#8 The Straight Path Convention: Path To Hereafter

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

Assalamualaikum and hello everybody! How are you guys doing? I hope you are all in the best of health J So, in this article I’ll be writing down my notes from The Straight Path Convention: Path To Hereafter that my sister and I went last Sunday at TM Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur. Of course, I am pleased to say how grateful I am to be a part of this programme.

UNFORTUNATELY, on that very day I had a terrible cold and flu so I really couldn’t give a 100% attention to the speakers, huhu. So a massive thank you to my big sister, Fatehah Ezaha for lending me some of her notes to write in my blog.

Just so you know, The Path to Hereafter was a full day event for sisters only, consisting of six enriching English and international-standard lectures about threading on the righteous path to the Hereafter. This was pertinent in modern times, where the path has become a somewhat blurred due to ignorance, arrogance or misinformation as a result of the widespread anti-Islam propaganda. So, without further ado, let’s get started!

1. 'DAUGHTERS ARE SPECIAL BY MUFTI MENK

  • We only concentrate on what we don’t have and never really be grateful about what we actually have – always remember that they are some other people out there who are in a lot worse condition than ours.
  •         Take time to sit, ponder and think about the gifts all around us that Allah has given us.
    ·         We can never be bothered by something that we can’t cope with – that is the promise of Allah.
    ·         Everything that Allah SWT has given us is always a MIRACLE – we are just too blinded to see them.
    ·         When Allah SWT doesn’t give us anything we want or anything that we’ve asked Him, He’s actually sending a signal for us to be closer to Him, alone.
    ·         Do whatever with your capability if you yourselves believe it’s a beneficial thing for you; but always remember to seek for Allah SWT & do not be lazy, work hard & have faith in Him.
    ·         Our ‘ifs’ open the door of devils.
    ·         A female new born baby will be killed or buried alive during the Jahiliah era – by only means women meant nothing but a shame at that time.
    ·         In Rasululullah SAW’s leadership, he showed that women have very high values and dignity and cannot just be treated badly like slaves and so on.
    ·         There is a saying about women: “Let her cover herself, so that she’ll be protected.”
    ·         You don’t judge women by their hair, their dressing lines, their makeup or their body but the truth is you judge women by their dedication to Allah SWT.
    ·         Even though some live based on the principle ‘Don’t Judge’ but that doesn’t mean we can’t give them advice & naseehah to lead them to a better way, to the right path.
    ·         Allah SWT has dedicated a surah especially for us women in the Quran; Surah An-Nisa’.
    ·         An African leader used to say; “Women nowadays are forced to take off their clothes and show their body as a sign of liberation.”  - But the truth is that they’re all getting back to the old fashioned way, to the old civilization. We are all now advanced, there’s no such thing as liberation in that way.
    ·         Do not do something for the opposite sex/ to show the world; it’s called TABARRUJ.
    ·         Someone asked, “Is it wrong for us Muslimah to go to the gym?” The answer; take priority of where, when, how and always keep in mind that you are a Muslimah.
    ·         Our people today have become so narrow minded regardless in this time – It’s time for us Muslims to wake up from our dreams and start doing something to change our condition now!
    ·         DEAR MUSLIMAH, LIVE YOUR LIFE IN MANY BEAUTIFUL WAYS, THE WAY WE TALK, ACT, OUR DEDICATION TO ALLAH SWT & OUR CHARACTER WILL SHOW HOW SPECIAL AND WONDERFUL YOU ARE.
22. I HAVE FOUND MY PATH, HAVE YOU? BY NURHAFSAH HAMID

·         -Throughout our life, there are three questions that we need to often ask ourselves: 1. who am I between me & Allah? 2. Who do I want to be? 3. How do I get there?
·      -   You will always need to go back to basic, The Holy Quran.
·      -   You don’t just have to know how to recite Quran properly, but you also need to find out the meaning in the Quran itself and apply them in our daily life.
·       -  Increase your knowledge, be brave to ask questions doesn’t matter what other people think, what matters most is Allah SWT.
·     -    Never compare our knowledge with other people’s.
·       -  Be proud of who you are, your identity as  a Muslimah – show them that you are not oppressed, and do not let yourself be controlled by the world, the media and others.
·        - Don’t pretend to be something you’re not – always try to find ‘you’ in every single thing you do.
·       -  By making mistakes, it makes us stronger and it makes us realize who we really are.
·        - Finding the path is a struggle, but staying on it is even more struggle.
·       -  The person with the worst history have a chance to be a better Muslimah in the future in the eyes of Allah SWT – Don’t just judge people so easily that we don’t know their real personality and social status. Instead, make dua for them and always ask and show them the right path.
d   - CHOOSE THE RIGHT PATH, AND STAY ON IT.

33. IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF OUR PROPHET BY JOANNE PARE ABDULLAH

·       -  You can do one simple sunnah that is SMILING =)
·      -   Change the way you think and always follow the footsteps of our ultimate idol and leader the messenger of Allah SWT, Rasulullah SAW.
·        - ‘LATER’ is not a promise for the single one of us.
·     -    We as Muslim women should take our children or the small kids and give or show them the right way about Allah SWT and Islam – for example like Allah’s creation all around us instead of letting them play with gadgets and games and stuffs.
·      -   The reason why kids are getting more stubborn is because the parents themselves as they should be showing the true example of being a good person – for example, when we tell our children ‘TAK NAK KAWAN’ at the first place and it is not impossible for them to follow what we said and they can do it in even more 'advanced' ways.
·     -    He promises us something absolutely wonderful but it’s us who forgot about all that & we keep grasping and hoping on things in this temporary Dunya.
·     -    Allah SWT loves it when we do something little with a high level of sincerity instead of doing something big but with no sincerity and with intentions to show them off to the world/to other people.
·    -     Tomorrow’s not promised so do it NOW, NOW! When you have the chance to do so.
·    -     Redo your intentions every single day after you wake up and be grateful to Him that He has given you another chance to go back to Him.
·     -    Plus, respect your neighbours and other sisters as well.

    4. PROUD TO BE A MUSLIMAH BY SHEIKHAH WAFAA MOHD HUSSAIN YEE

- People nowadays are so amazed and proud of seeing powerful things not realizing that all that had happened before during the Prophets time.
- Adam AS, was created by soils and was very tall and big - so why are we so proud of big things around us not realizing that our first Prophet was, too.
- Idris AS was a professional tailor so we did have clothes before and clearly we weren't naked - each time he put a needle into his clothes he'll say 'SubhanAllah' and each time he got it out he'll say 'Alhamdulillah'.
- Nuh AS lived for 950 years long, he also made an ark so big without such technologies like what we have today - he was tested by Allah SWT as both of his sons and his wife died as a non-believer.
- Ibrahim AS was the father of all prophets that came after him, he became a dai'e when he was young and he was thrown into a fire and it didn't burn Ibrahim AS - also, he rebuild the House of Allah that is the Kaabah with his son, Ismail AS hence the first ever to make a Korban.
- Ayub AS was tested so hard by Allah SWT as he had worms in hos body - He showed us how beautiful patience is, and how beautiful the result of our patience is.
- Yunus AS was tested by being eaten by a whale - he came in and out of the whale as a reminder for us to always remember Allah SWT in any situations.
- Sulaiman AS had the power to speak to animals and understand their languages - so why are we so amazed and proud seeings such things on TV not realizing that a Muslim has done it before.
- Isa AS, who was born miraculously without a father - scientists nowadays are finding and searching about this and still they do not get any results and still don't want to go back to Allah as most of scientists nowadays are atheist.
- Musa AS was given a miracle that he could speak directly to Allah SWT.
- Ilyas & Ilyasa AS were the ones who showed us the point that we are all not perfect, our flaws and imperfections are what make us need each other in our lives.
