#10 Twins of Faith Conference 2015: The Awakening (Day 2)

                                    بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

Salam Alaykum, Twins of Faith Conference 2015: The Awakening Day 2 starts now! Ngeee

1.    HOME SWEET HOME ( ALAA ELSAYED)
·         The word ‘ummah’ comes from ‘um’— mothers are the mothers of the ummah.
·         The person who is most beloved by Allah SWT isn’t the widest man, neither strongest nor richest man; but those who have taqwa.
·         Taqwa is the root of happy family.
·         When you plant a seed, you need to throw the weed – the same same goes when you want to have a baby, throw away all the negative things in life – plant the seed with Islamic principle and love,
·         You must also need halal incomes – then trim the branches and the trenches for you are the barber.
·         An investment that we can get eventhough we’re dead are:
-       Sadaqah.
-       Ilmu/ knowledge that has been spread.

-       Dua from righteous children.
·         The garment is meant for us to protect one another not just from the hot or the cold weather but also from the evil etc.
·         The garment is close to our skin – it means it keep your secrets.
·         In a nutshell, always ask youself, “What’s holding my back?” – and do not procrastinate.
·         Bring all of your family to the right way to become righteous that it will help the society and the development of this ummah.
·         Allah SWT says ‘give for what I’ve given you’ by which it means give sadaqah and charity.

 2.    LIFE’S A ROLLERCOASTER (BILAL ASSAD)

·         Shaytan became jealous when Allah SWT first created Adam AS – jealousy is one of the rollercoaster in life.
·         Jealousy leads to ignorance, and make us feel superior compared to the others.
·         Ignorance is iblis’s cloak.
·         When we’re angry, we wipe out all the good things not thinking about the consequences, as long as we fulfil our desires and our nafs.
·         JEALOUSY à PRIDEFULNESS à REVENGE.
·         Be careful of the shaytan and beware of both jin shaytan and ‘human shaytan’.
·         To have a great rollercoaster ride, you also need to have the right company in life.
·         Shaytan comes to you from the back. The front and from the far distance of both sides that is our left and right.
·         Shaytan comes to us from the back is when we don’t realize we’re doing something wrong/ we’re committing a sin.
·         Shaytan comes from the far distance of both our left and right – because of the angels, it means that Allah SWT still protects us somehow.
·         Iblis doesn’t come from above or beneath us – because Allah SWT doesn’t let any obstacles between His creation and Him. You see, like when we make dua, Allah SWT doesn’t allow shaytan to intercept your relationship with Allah SWT, SubhanAllah J
·         Imaan is like flying in an aeroplane, the higher you go, the smallest the world will look like.
·         The same goes when we have imaan, we know how small the world is compared to the big and everlasting Hereafter.
·         All of us sin repetively, again and again, so don’t expect that Allah SWT expects us to be perfect. In fact, Rasulullah SAW saya that ‘the best among the sinners are the ones who constantly repent.’
·         Taubah literally means – return.
·         Your iman can sometimes be soaring high and sometimes, it can be very, very, low.
·         We have stories of mukminin, that committed zina, stole and oppressed but they regretted it, they repented and they did double of the good deeds.
·         Imaan – means to feel a strong relationship with Allah SWT.
·         Subhanak means – how perfect you are, Allah.
·         When you realize that your imaan is soaring high, RUN! Do righteous deeds as quickly as you can and as much as you can.
·         Some people feel so guilty when they commit any sins that they don’t think they deserve to feel anything about Allah SWT – that my friend, is an amazing way of thinking but also stupid and it is also a trick of shaytans.
·         When you realize your imaan is very low, never ever leave your fardhu duty – because Allah SWT says that He does not love anything more than His slaves doing compulsory duties.
·         Allah SWT is the closest one to you, even closer to you than your parents.
·         Don’t run away from Allah SWT when you realize your life isn’t as good as you might think it will be.
·         You’re afraid of Allah SWT but you run to Allah? – because we have taqwa and we’re afraid of losing Allah SWT, we’re actually afraid of losing the love of Allah for us.

3.    ATTEND, ACQUIRE, ACCOMPLISH (ABDURRAHMAN MURAD)
·         We’re so tie in to the internet that we actually forgot the importance of it.
·         Learn something by heart for one day if everything like the internet goes offline, we can still know or have the knowledge especially knowledge about our religion.
·         Rasulullah SAW says ‘Islam will fade away from the lives of Muslim – the condition would become a lot worse that no one would know about the prayers, sadaqah, the book of Allah or even Hajj’ – it is just a matter of time now.
·         Those who learned and keep the knowledge in their memory are but the successful ones,
·         Towards the end of the time, ignorance will be the norm of the society.
·         The reality of today – we ask about religion to those who look religious but the truth is they’re far from being knowledgeable.
·         Ask for proof of some statements or behind them like evidence – dalil, hadith etc.
·         Types of ignorance are: the basic one and the compound ignorance
·         The basic ignorance is when we don’t know the basic things and we try to know it by asking others.
·         The compound ignorance is when we think we know everything but truth is we don’t and we try to make up stories and our own facts.
·         The worst fitnah is the fitnah of Dajjal.
·         Lack of knowledge and ignorance will lead us to become the follower of Dajjal.
·         The beautiful thing about knowledge is that it is an act of worshipping Allah SWT.
·         When we learn, learn for the sake of Allah – and with that we will memorize it easier and we will apply it more in our lives.

4.    PROPHETIC GUIDANCE (WASIM KEMPSON)
·         Muslims need to review and redefine themselves.
·         Do not become like the wind – if it goes north, we go north and if it goes south, we go south, do not just go with the flow.
·         Don’t become a ‘nobody’ in our society by which doesn’t stand up for anything.
·         Our final destination is Jannah, we Muslims work for the akhirah so do not sell something cheap in the akhirah for the sake of Dunya.
·         The prophets who were sent for us were supposed to teach and we should follow their path, not worship them.
·         Islam wants a balanced life for us – you don’t need to stay awake to pray all nights, to fast every day nor not getting married because you’re afraid of getting busy or you’ll get distracted from worshipping Allah SWT.
·         Allah SWT tells us to be in the right path, that us the middle path; not the extremists’.
·         The more you neglect the sunnah, the more you will fall into the misguided ones.
·         Some of the remedies:
-       Reinforce/ educate people about the basic teachings of the Quran and the sunnah.
-       Revive the role of the scholars and the ones who have knowledge about Islam.
-       Engage with our youth and explain to them the true teachings of Islam – do not allow them to see/watch extreme opinions as they have easy access to see/watch it through the palm of their hands.
-       Be awake and start practicing Islam correctly.
-       Engage with the people who are extremists, scholarly – engage them with knowledge and not by emotions.

5.    ONE UMMAH (YAHYA IBRAHIM)
·         Muhammad SAW is the founder of our ummah.
·         We have been the best ummah in all mankind.
·         On the Day of Judgement, all the ummah of Musa, Isa etc will beg to be in the ummah of Muhammad SAW because of the specialties we have.
·         Live the sunnah, the tradition of Rasulullah SAW not just by words but also by actions.
·         The sunnah is always comfort, the sunnah is but Rasulullah SAW.
·          Learn. It is an obligation upon every man and woman on the face of the Earth.
·         How can we face Allah when we don’t know anything about Him? Learn about Him, learn about Allah SWT the Sustainer, The Almighty.
·         Your studies – medicine, engineering and etc can lead you to Allah SWT as long as you do it for the sake of Allah SWT.
·         Quran is literally not for everyone, but Quran has no doubt for those who have taqwa.
·         Ihsan – worship Allah as if you can see Him.
·         Connect with others as that’s what Rasulullah SAW did, he connected with the ummah like the Muhajirin, the Ansar and the list goes on.
·         Rasulullah SAW also ate with both the wealthy and the poor ones.
·         subhanAllahiwabihamdi – two words that are light on the toungue and heavy on the scale of Mizan, that in decision will lead you to Jannah.

6.    WAKE UP! (WAHAJ TARIN)
·         It is He who gave you life to see how many deeds you do – tested with fear, anger as the whole life is a test.
·         And the test ends with a death.
·         Running away won’t stop you from death.
·         Each and every single one of us will end our journey with death – then we’ll meet our Maker, our King Allah SWT.
·         The hellfire is so hot that you will literally evaporate in there.
·         Jannah is and was made as a reward.
·         There will be rivers with honey and milk for us in Jannah – perfume will come out of the land of Jannah.

7.    Q & A (WITH ALAA ELSAYED)

·         The visa to Jannah is ‘Lailahaillallah Waasyhaduanna Muhammadar Rasulullah.’
·         When you do good deeds, it gets doubled by 1000 times but when you commit a sin, it will only be accounted by one as punishment.
·         How to memorize Quran easily – read and repeat 10 times, understood it and implement it.
·         If you stop or start doing something for the sake of the people, then there’s no sincere in it.
·         Act as if there are no other people in the world, just you and Him.
·         How to teach ourselves to be sincere to Allah? – Do qiamullail, the 2 rakaah prayer on the midnight when there’s no one around, that is how you teach yourself to be sincere.
·         When you have knowledge, share it gradually.
·         First thing to share knowledge with others is by implementing it to us first, be an example for others to follow.
·         If you’re a Non-Muslim and you live in an Islamic lifestyle, the only thing you have to do is to recite the syahadah.
·         Taubah:
-       Stop doing/ committing the sin.
-       Pray to Allah SWT.
-       Have intentions to never repeat the sin again.
-       Give back the rights or say sorry to people that you’ve hurt.
·         The world is full of maghfirah and forgiveness, as long as we pray to Allah and keep repenting.
·         Keep in mind that before you commit any sins:
-       Act as if He can see you.
-       Ask yourself, is this temporary pleasure that is better or the eternal pleasure in the hereafter?

8.    THE GRAVE AWAKENINGS (TAWFIQUE CHOWDURRY)

·         Allah SWT created us not just for us to worship Him, but also for us to be with Him in the everlasting Jannah.
·         Every single good things require hardwork –  ‘suffer now and live your life as a champion.’ – Muhammad Ali
·         If we don’t think like a champion, like a winner, Allah SWT will disgrace us.
·         Everything you do in life will has sourness and sweetness – it has difficulties and we finally reach the happiness when we already realize the benefits of it and also when we meet Allah SWT.
·         Rasulullah SAW says: A life of a believer is like a prison.
·         You are important in this ummah, this ummah indeed needs good men and also good women.
·         The world, especially the west will not lose anything with the downfalls of the Muslims, the only thing they will lose is our food, haha.
·         Don’t be fooled by what’s in front of you!
·         Learn the leadership of Prophet Muhammad SAW who had 1.7 billion followers even after his death.
·         Mostly in Malaysia people lets others do the things that we are actually supposed to do – and then we keep complaining and complaining not knowing we’ve left our duty as a citizen of this country.
·         The Non-Muslims are way wealthier and with that they can send their children to school, get a good job and they literally run 60% of our country’s economy – so would it be the perfect time of us Muslims to wake up and start doing something for the ummah? Wake up, be wealthy and be strong!
·         This ummah needs a different people now because we all demand a lot of things.
·         Allah SWT will punish us for being too convenient with our food, our house, our property – not thinking or even concerning about the ummah especially the needy ones.
·         Be more educated, more wealthy and stronger – then you can help change the ummah and earn a bigger place in Jannah in shaa Allah.
·         We have to be smart and always think about how to multiply our deens.
·         Focus on the big thing that will help the ummah, do not waste your time doing filthy little things!
·         AWAKE THE GIANT, THE HERO IN YOU!
·         In a nutshell. We Muslims must:
-       HAVE A BIG DREAM/BIG GOAL FOR THE UMMAH.
-       DO SOMETHING CRAZY OR SOMETHING AMAZING THAT WILL AMAZE ALLAH SWT.
-       LEARN HOW TO BE A GOOD LEADER AND LEARN HOW TO INFLUENCE OTHERS.
-       BECOME WEALTHY AND STRONG.
-       GIVE UP THE SILLY THINGS IN LIFE, THE UNUSEFUL THINGS IN LIFE THAT WILL NOT HELP THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS UMMAH.

Indeed, it is the time for us to wake up and be real. The ummah needs us. Think, what do we represent in this ummah. Have we done anything to help the ummah or, do we make it even worse?

I pray to Allah SWT to bless all of you, the ones who are reading this and may you will earn a place in Jannah one day, jazakumullahu khyrani for reading brothers and sisters =)

Salam Alaykum.
